Our annual "Dancing with the Stars" competition was held during the homecoming pep rally.  Coach Sheppard, our defending champion, was unable to defend his title, so Officer Jason Burrous stepped in and showed us his moves. He was paired with his 6^th grade daughter, Haven, and they put on a show.  A little birdie told us that Officer Burrous used to be in show choir in high school, so he may have been reliving those glory days.  They won 1^st place with all the other teams coming in 2^nd.  Participants were given several songs and they had to make the crowd go crazy.  One team, Dave Winfrey, social studies teacher, and Abrie Lopez, 6^th grade student, even wheeled around dancing.  They were definitely a sight to see.  DWTS teams consisted of 7^th grade reading teacher, Rebecca Adair, and Dezmond Rodgers;art teacher, Jesucita Menz, and  Chas Walls; Velma Aguilar, paraprofessional, and her son, Alex Aguilar;  Nurse, Abby Lawrence, and  Zach Reeder; Superintendent, Gary Martel, and Zariah Vinson who both did splits on the floor and  Burrous and Burrous, and Winfrey and Lopez.
